Happy new year from all of us at GSA! 

We held this years AGM at Leonardos Hotel on Jamaica Street where our volunteers elected our new Trustees for 2026 and reviewed our accomplishments of the previous year.

Our volunteers are truly the backbone of our charity and we can't thank everyone enough. 

Here goes 2026!

February was a busy month for us in terms of volunteer hours. 

This February we had our volunteers continue their blood donations!

We attended The Gathering ‘26 for networking and building new connections. 

We have restarted our Coffee & Walk incentive for the volunteers to decompress.

During March, our team continued to strengthen community links and engagement across Glasgow. We were proud to attend the SAY Women rebrand launch and referral training evening, supporting vital work aimed at empowering and assisting vulnerable women within the city.

We also represented Glasgow Street Aid at the Lord Lieutenant’s Awards Night, where we were honoured to receive the Bronze Award under the Armed Forces Covenant. This recognition highlights our ongoing commitment to supporting the armed forces community and those connected to it.

Alongside these engagements, our team prioritised wellbeing with informal activities such as a coffee and walk, and continued to support essential services by attending blood donation sessions helping to contribute to lifesaving efforts within the wider community.

 April was a fantastic month for community engagement and partnerships for Glasgow Street Aid. 

We welcomed back the Air Cadets for a visit and catch-up, and visited The Roost to host an information session. Additionally, our Special Project Lead met with UNISON to introduce them to our work, delivering a highly successful talk. 

To top off a great month, we were incredibly grateful to receive a generous donation of £1,800 from the Glasgow Rotary Club. 

 May was another engaging month for Glasgow Street Aid. We hosted our community "Coffee and Walk" session and encouraged our team to give back, with several volunteers attending a local blood donation drive. 

Furthermore, our Special Projects Lead represented the charity at a Soroptimists event hosted by Glasgow Caledonian University, a successful visit that helped us secure some fantastic donations. 

 June was a dynamic month for Glasgow Street Aid, as the city center welcomed a surge of new faces for TRNSMT. 

This period also marked the beginning of a valuable new working partnership with the local Business Improvement District (BID). As part of this collaboration, GSA successfully launched new pilot shifts on Thursday nights, expanding our capacity to provide support across the city during these busy periods. 

  July was a vibrant month for community engagement for Glasgow Street Aid. 

We attended the Cowcaddens Fire Station community open day and visited the Bonnie Banks Festival, where we were delighted to see so many children enjoying a lovely football tournament. Additionally, the city was buzzing with excitement as it welcomed the Commonwealth Games, bringing a fantastic and energetic atmosphere to Glasgow. 

 August was another fantastic month for community engagement for Glasgow Street Aid. 

We attended another amazing event at Polmadie Fire Station for their community open day, continuing to build strong ties with local emergency services. 

Additionally, the team had the incredible privilege of attending the Military Tattoo, experiencing a truly memorable and spectacular event.
