January 2025

Happy new year from all of us at GSA! We held our AGM this month and elected some new trustees! We also had good partnership engagement and added another 300 volunteer hours on top of Jan last year! Wow! Our volunteers are truly the backbone of our charity and we can't thank everyone enough. Here goes 2025!

February 2025

February was a busy month for us in terms of volunteer hours. We have had several important meetings which will help the charity moving forward (more to come on that!).

We have also been involved in the Storm Eowyn debrief with other third sector partners. But most importantly, we have had a new coffee machine installed for our volunteers to have a pick me up during shift! We look forward to what March may bring!

March 2025

We’re ending our first quarter on a high!

This month our volunteer hours were thriving. Our volunteers completed a total of 1084 hours! Last year it was only 655.5! It just shows how much our charity is growing and we have so many new amazing volunteers joining the team!

Thank you all for being amazing!

April 2025

This month some of our volunteers were back at the Bonnie Banks Football Festival providing medical cover!

Thank you to all of our volunteers who attended! Another special thank you to all our Kiltwalkers, including Wireless Infrastructure Group, who have raised £2755 for GSA so far!

May 2025

May was an exciting month as we supported pupils and staff of Our Lady of the Rosary Primary's Health Week. A group of our student volunteers and one of our registered Paramedics led classes in learning about anaphylaxis and choking - then toured our ambulance, Dixie!

Our Special Projects team went along to u3a in Glasgow's west end to deliver a presentation and exhibit some of Cameron Scott's documentary work - a roaring success!

The team down at Frontline Fleet Services came to our rescue to sort out some of our emergency lights on our new vehicle.

Last, but certainly not least - Wireless Infrastructure Group presented the donation cheque from their epic 26 mile Kiltwalk to our Head of Service, John and Special Projects Lead, Alison - a whopping £2765! Thank you Team WIG!

June 2025

Beth, our Social Media Lead led the celebrations of our volunteers for Volunteers Week. Starting off the week by sharing photographs of our street teams - highlighting some of the connections the team made out on patrol in the city. Beth also facilitated team interviews - keep your eyes peeled for new media!

Another Health Week program was delivered by members of our Clinical Hub volunteers - this time at  Our Lady of the Annunciation Primary School in Glasgow. Get in touch if you think we can help!

Volunteers Ross, Lily and Mark (and Dixie) went along to a group of Army Cadets in Giffnock on behalf of our Special Projects team to introduce the charity.  June also saw another round of Team GSA Blood Donor sessions - 26 donations! Great effort! Lastly, we joined other community charities at the Tesco Express Maryhill event near the end of the month.

July 2025

Our Impact
In July 2025, Glasgow Street Aid continued to provide vital support to the people of Glasgow. Our volunteers attended 240 incidents, including 123 medical emergencies and 111 welfare incidents, ensuring that vulnerable individuals received timely care and assistance.

We responded to 3 drug overdoses and facilitated 11 transfers to hospital, helping to safeguard lives.

Throughout the month, our dedicated volunteers contributed over 1,342 hours, demonstrating their commitment to the safety and wellbeing of our community.

Despite facing challenges, including 6 instances of aggression towards our volunteers, our team remained resilient and compassionate in delivering frontline support.

In addition to our incident response work, July also saw Glasgow Street Aid actively engaging with the wider community.

Our team provided support at the Burrell Collection event, TRNSMT 25, and the Funday at Gorbals Tyre Centre.

We also held our Quarter 3 board meeting and successfully inducted new volunteers, strengthening our organisation for the months ahead.

August 2025

In August, our volunteers attended 231 incidents, including 130 medical emergencies and 98 welfare cases, ensuring timely support for Glasgow’s most vulnerable.

The team also facilitated 9 hospital transfers and, despite facing 3 incidents of aggression, contributed a remarkable 1,244 hours of service.

Alongside frontline support, Glasgow Street Aid was active in the community, providing assistance at the Bonnie Banks Football Festival and Clutha public event, running Treasurer training, and welcoming new volunteers through inductions.

These activities strengthened our team and reinforced our commitment to keeping Glasgow safe and supported.

September 2025

In September, our volunteers attended 229 incidents

(119 medical, 108 welfare, 3 overdoses),

including 8 hospital transfers, contributing 1,138.5 hours of service.

DYW City Chambers,
